Best 4 Player Wii Games

Best 4 Player Wii Games
There are tons of great options for 4 player Wii games

The successor to the GameCube, the Wii, was released by Nintendo on November 19, 2006.It would propel other console manufacturers to include motion controls in their existing products, making it one of the most popular video game consoles ever. Even though motion control didn't work as well as you would think, the Nintendo Wii had a good library of games, and your grandparents probably still have one in their huge entertainment center from the early 90's with that CRT they've got lying around.

The Wii offered a great multiplayer experience which is why it's considered to be one of the best selling video game consoles of all time. Everyone had a Wii, whether you were the hardcore of gamer or casually picking up a Wii remote at a party. Coop games were in full force, often being up to 4 players for your favorite Mario game. It's time to grab four of your closest friends, or pick up some hitchhikers and sit down, unwind and get together to play some Wii multiplayer games!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up

If you were looking for something along the lines of Smash Bros but are fans of the TMNT universe, Smash-Up is the game for you. Sure, it won't have the lasting appeal as Smash Bros has, but is a perfect entry to the whole fighting game genre with your favorite Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo) as the stars of the show!

The coop experience never felt so great with the Turtles at the helm. Cowabunga Dude!

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land

Rounding off the list is Kirby's installment on the Wii. Yes, he does look a bit like Nintendo star Link on the cover. An absolute brilliant masterpiece is this game. A superior take on the classic Kirby SNES games. Definitely an essential Wii purchase.
Power yourself up and grab up to 4 players with Meta Knight, Kirby, Waddle Dee, and the King Dedede for an interesting couch coop as you make your way through the colorful worlds. Look no further if you want something that will both entertain you and be worth your money and time.

Just Dance (2020)

Just Dance (2020)

When it comes to dance simulators, there might not be one as good as Just Dance 2020 edition. Going through the years of mediocre releases has taught the developers over at Ubisoft just how to publish a good dance game. It offers a fantastic track list and great fun for everyone in the household. Even your grandmother would be impressed by your moves in Fancy Footwork.

Mario Party 9

Mario Party 9

The minigames in Mario Party 9 are phenomenal. They are literally what can keep you coming back for more in what is considered to be one of the best party games of all time. Because it allowed for full exploration of each board, I loved that everyone was in a single car rather than on their own.

Although Mario Party 9 has more of a video game feel, less motion control, and fewer board game rules, there is still a lot of chance. This is what we love in a 4 player Wii game.

Goldeneye 007

Goldeneye 007

I have to admit, Goldeneye 007 caught me off guard when it was originally released on the Wii. I had flashbacks to the Nintendo 64 release that revolutionized the first person shooter genre. You can pick up the Wii Gun controller that brings us back to the NES zapper days and shoot your favorite bad guys in Goldeneye 007.

Easily one of the best shooters for the Wii. However, do not anticipate a remake; This is a new vision to the Bond franchise. It has a modernized plot, a new voice cast, and Daniel Craig as James Bond, making it a great shooter on its own. Even though we miss that pixelized version of Pierce Brosnan and that awkward controller analog stick.

Mario and Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games

Mario and Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games

The London 2012 variation of the Sonic and Mario game is the best on the Wii console. It's fun in single-player or in multiplayer, but the multiplayer mode is my favorite. Pick up this game if you have a Wii and want to enjoy it with up to four players.

Boom Blox Bash Party

Boom Blox Bash Party

Unless you take yourself too seriously, this is one multiplayer experience you should not miss. It's enjoyable, exhausting, and just as enjoyable to watch other people play as it is to play yourself.

Together with its brand-new multiplayer version of the original shuffleboard game, which is a classic. You can use the slingshot tool in this game to hurl colored blocks at your rival in an effort to knock their blocks off the platform. A wonderful experience you can put together in a multiplayer setting with up to 4 players!

Rayman Origins

Rayman Origins

Rayman Origins gives you exactly what made you fall in love with video games in the first place. The platforming action is a near-perfect advocation of the beautifully designed levels with the most stunningly detailed and vibrant visuals we've ever seen on the Wii.

The game goes above and beyond with tight controls, a difficulty curve that is at least manageable to make it through the tough sections, boss fights that are fantastically surreal, and a lot of replayability.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Super Smash Bros Brawl is a dream come true for fans of Nintendo. It features numerous Nintendo characters as well as a few non-Nintendo characters, such as Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid.

With the 4 player success of the original Smash Bros released on the N64 and the iconic Melee on the Gamecube, it's without a doubt a fantastic move to put your favorite multiplayer fighting game on the Wii.

Mario Party 8

Mario Party 8

After Mario Party 2, this is actually our second favorite Mario Party game. We loved the boards, especially King Boo's, loved the story mode, and even the mini games were passable while playing with 4 players in a coop setting.

If you enjoy Mario Party, you will also enjoy Mario Party 8. Even with the Wii controls, this game won't change your mind if you don't like the Mario Party games.

Rock Band 3

Rock Band 3

The ultimate rhythm game experience is Rock Band 3. It makes extraordinary use of the foundation laid by previous games. It is remarkable that Rock Band 3 provides a complex learning tool while also being simple to pick up and play.

Picking up a copy of Rock Band 3 will require you to have the correct instrument in order to play in the band. These aren't being produced anymore and can lead to high prices online.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Smooth Moves is perfect for that party you're hosting! This is the game for you and your friends to play while drinking and having fun. It always brings everyone together and is a blast to play with four players.

The absolute best and worst can be found in Smooth Moves. You'll be absolutely shocked with what can be done with the WiiMote, but the games are a little light and don't require too much focus in order to solve. WarioWare Smooth Moves is a fantastic choice if you're looking for a 4 player Wii game.

Mario Strikers Charged

Mario Strikers Charged

Even those who aren't fans of sports games will learn to appreciate the brilliance of Mario Strikers Charged. It's a wonderful spinoff of an arcade style pick up and play soccer game featuring your favorite characters from the Mario universe.

What makes Mario Strikers Charged so great is the 4 player multiplayer mode. That's right, head off and score massive goals with a buddy against two of your friends in the head to head mode. Step aside fans of the Fifa series of games to a more enjoyable experience with Mario as the star!

New Super Mario Bros

New Super Mario Bros

In single-player, NSMBW is a stunning experience in it's own regard. Coupled with the multiplayer mode, it's a chaotic boiling pot of lighthearted fun that's wonderful for everyone, from casual gamers to seasoned veterans. Step aside newcomers, this was the Mario game you were waiting for on the Nintendo Wii. We absolutely applaud you for your efforts, Nintendo.

Wii Sports

Wii Sports

Wii Sports is the best way to start playing Wii games. Of course as it was a pack in title! It's funny, easy to understand, and both gamers and non-gamers should learn something from it.

Wii Sports was the title that started off the craze of the Wii. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents were caught swinging around the Wii Mote in order to get those reps in with the Tennis game. You can also throw strikes and miss that Thursday bowling league you've been meaning to go to for the past month!

Wii Sports Resort

Wii Sports Resort

Wii Sports Resort is another game that's fun to play, easy to learn, and great for playing with the whole family. The use of the new motion controls are also realistic and offer a great enhancement to the original Wii Sports.

Enjoy the multiplayer experience in a hoop off in basketball or bowl your way into a strike! Wii Sports Resort is the best motion control sports game on the Wii.

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii is made very well. Rarely is the motion control on the Wii used to its full potential. With a Wii Wheel, it feels right, the buttons feel natural, and the handling is excellent.

Mario Kart Wii is super approachable and offers a fantastic multiplayer experience with up to 4 players. The online multiplayer with the use of an unofficial server called Wiimmfi is an added touch to the experience even when the official Nintendo servers have been shut down for Wii Online.

We hoped you enjoyed our list of the best 4 player Wii games that are still fun today. If you wished some other choices belonged, please let us know on Twitter!
