The GBA, the greatest handheld library of all time?

The Game Boy Advance was a fantastic handheld console. With over 80 million consoles sold to date. The GBA has great graphical capabilities, often rivaling the Super Nintendo with some of their ports.

The GBA also offered fantastic battery life, only using two double A batteries that can reach up to 15 hours per set. The added shoulder buttons allowed for additional gameplay mechanics and quality of life improvements that the original Game Boy did not offer.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Offering a perfect mix of turn based RPG combat, epic platforming and a fantastic adventure, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is very reminiscent of Super Mario RPG. Make your way using Mario and Luigi in an interesting way to control each of the characters.

With over 2 million copies to date, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was released in late 2003 and is one of the best RPG games on the GBA.

14 - Wario Land 4

With it's rather short gameplay experience, having the main campaign to be finished in approximately 10 hours or less on normal. Despite it's flaws, Wario Land 4 is a unique experience and offers fantastic level design, Wario Land 4 is a fantastic platformer for newcomers of the genre as well as platforming veterans.

Wario Land 4 has sold 2.2 million copies to date. Making it one of the greatest platformers on the GBA!

13 - NES Classics Series: Super Mario Bros.

It's the original Super Mario Bros on the GBA! The GBA was no stranger to the NES Classics Series, from Castlevania, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda and of course Super Mario Bros were all great games released on the GBA. There was also a NES inspired GBA released to match the flavor of the titles.

The 8-bit plumber has amassed 2.27 million copies to date since it's release in early 2004. Talk about a lot of drains to clear!

12 - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team is an extremely addicting game. You play as the Pokémon who are set out to save the Pokémon around the world from natural disasters. It's one of the best looking GBA games and picking it up will surely give you a hard time putting it down.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team has sold a whopping 2.36 million copies to date. Putting it ahead of other favorites such as Golden Sun and Metroid Fusion!

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

With countless rereleases, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is bar none, the best Zelda game released up until it's release in 1991 on the Super Nintendo. Shigeru Miyamoto had the newest Nintendo hardware to use and wanted to show off the increased size that could be fit on a Super Nintendo cartridge. As a result, Miyamoto created a masterpiece and will easily be ported to future Nintendo hardware for years to come.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has sold 2.8 million copies to date. That's a lot of princesses that were saved from Gannon!

10 - Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Yoshi's Island was always an interesting concept. All Nintendo had to do was take Super Mario World and give us more of the same game. New levels, a new soundtrack and maybe a few new items and call it a day. Instead, they delivered something way out to left field introducing Yoshi as the main character who digests enemies as eggs to shoot them at opponents.

Yoshi's Island is a fantastic platformer worthy of the number 10 spot. Selling over 2.83 million copies to date!

Pac-Man Collection features a compellation of four main games. The original Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack and Pac-Man Arrangement. The last title was actually indented to be an exclusive to the arcade release Namco Classic Collection Volume 2.

Don't let this compellation fool you, Pac-Man Collection has sold over 2.9 million copies worldwide!

What's up with the collection packages and the GBA? Game Boy Advance fans must love their Pac-Man. Along with Ms. Pac-Man featured Dig Dug, Galaga and Pole Position all in one grey cartridge.

Namco Musean has amassed 2.96 million copies worldwide.

7 - Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

Another rerelease of the ever popular Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES. Handheld gamers could not get enough of the Italian plumber who captured the hearts of gamers on the NES.

Super Mario Bros 3 has sold 5.4 million copies on the GBA. This makes it one of the best selling games of all time on the Game Boy Advance.

If you told me that Super Mario Bros 2 would be a better selling game than Super Mario Bros 3, I wouldn't believe you! This actually happened on the GBA. It most likely had something to do with the early release date of Super Mario Advance, having an almost two year gap between release dates.

Super Mario Advance has sold over 5.5 million copies to date.

We are on fire with the amount of Super Mario games on the GBA. With no surprise, the port of Super Mario World is the best selling Mario platformer GBA game. Super Mario World is one of the best platforming experiences of all time. Featuring fantastic use of the Mode 7 graphics, tight controls and an amazing soundtrack, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance is one of the best games on the GBA. Selling over 5.6 million copies on the GBA.

4 - Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Mario Kart sometimes gets a bad reputation for being cheap or too focused on luck in order to win races. Although that might be true, being able to take your favorite Nintendo kart racers on the go offers a fantastic portable experience.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit is a fantastic successor to Super Mario Kart on the SNES and hopefully that alone is enough to rev up your engine. Selling over 5.9 million copies to date on the GBA.

3 - Pokémon Emerald

Having played through almost every Pokémon game to date, Emerald is a fine addition to the Pokémon line up. It was able to take everything that made Ruby and Sapphire so memorable and improve on each of the mechanics.

Pokémon Emerald is the third release for the GBA and is by no means a short game. Finishing Emerald will take approximately 32 hours to complete and a whopping 200+ hours for completionists alike. Pokémon games have been always big sellers, with over 7 million copies to date.
